Health Protection Legislation
The Governor vetoed our health protection legislation, but in his veto message the Governor recommended that there be established a task force to look into effective strategies for protecting adequate and affordable health insurance coverage for retired public employees and their dependents. He also stated that it is an important goal to insure that retirees health benefits do not become a unique target of budget cuts.
We are waiting for the committee assignments to be made in order to have our legislation sponsored by the committee chairs.
